  • What do you charge for an illustrated book cover?
The cost of an illustrated book cover depends on the complexity of the illustration and the package you choose. You can find the available packages and a detailed price list here.
  • What is the typical timeline for your illustrated cover designs?
The timeline for my cover designs can vary based on my current workload. On average, the delivery time for an illustrated cover is between 6-8 weeks, but if you need it faster than that let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
  • What information should I provide before we can start working together?
To begin our collaboration, I will need essential details such as the trim size of your book, the publishing platform you plan to use, the genre and main storyline of your book. This information will help me create a fitting cover illustration. Once the illustration is complete, I'll need to know the rest of the details, such as the final page count, back blurb, about the author section, website, logo, etc in order to format the cover.
  • How does the payment work? Do you accept PayPal?
Unfortunately, I do not accept PayPal due to their high fees. However, I recommend using Wise, which offers a similar service with lower fees. Alternatively, I also accept direct bank transfers and will provide you with an invoice for the payment. A 60% prepayment is required before starting the drawing process, and the remaining 40% will be due upon completion of the entire project and your approval of the cover.
  • What book genres do you work with?
I have experience working with a wide range of genres, including fantasy, young adult, romance, mystery, memoirs, and self-improvement, among others. I'm open to collaborating on various genres, except for children's picture books.
  • What does the work process look like?
To ensure a thorough understanding of your book, I always begin with a call to discuss your story and expectations. Following our conversation, I will provide a written overview of the cover concept. Once the concept is approved, I will proceed with sketching and painting the cover in full color. Upon completion of the illustration, we will move on to cover typography and formatting to finalise the design. You can find more details about my work process here.
  • Should I wait until I have a final page count and back blurb before I can start working with you?
No need to wait! We can start the process with the front cover illustration first. Once the illustration is finalised, we can proceed with the full cover design and formatting, incorporating the necessary details. You won't have to delay the initial stages.
  • Can you create a cover that captures the genre and tone of my book?
Absolutely! By understanding the genre, target audience, and overall theme of your book, I will create an illustrated cover that effectively captures the essence and tone of your story. The aim is to attract readers, pique curiosity, and showcase the unique qualities of your book.
  • I don’t have an idea for my book cover. Can I still work with you?
Absolutely! I understand that generating cover ideas can be challenging. Before diving into the illustration process, we will have a direct call where we can discuss your book and brainstorm cover concepts together. Don't worry if you don't have a specific idea yet—that's what I'm here to assist with. You can find more information about the work process here.
  • I like your illustration style, but I would like something a bit different for my cover. Can we still work together?
Absolutely! I welcome the opportunity to explore new styles and subjects. As an illustrator, I enjoy pushing boundaries and embracing creative challenges. So, please don't hesitate to reach out and let's discuss your vision.
  • Do you work with a contract and can I be sure the project will be completed on time?
Rest assured, I take deadlines very seriously and make it a priority to deliver projects on time. I have successfully met all deadlines thus far, so you can trust that your project will be handled promptly and efficiently. Additionally, I always work with a contract, which I will provide before we begin the work. The contract outlines the project's scope, including the deadline, deliverables, and other important terms and conditions, ensuring transparency and a clear understanding of the project's parameters.
  • How many revisions are included in the cover design package?
For the cover illustration, the standard package includes up to 4 revisions—2 for the line sketch and 2 for the final painting. In the typography and cover formatting stage, you can request an unlimited number of changes to ensure your complete satisfaction with the final result.
